Came across an interesting book the other day. THE RIVER WYE -A PICTORIAL HISTORY by Josephine Jeremiah. Packed with photographs and interesting historical detail re the Wye valley from Lllangurig to the estuary. If you can find a copy I am sure you will find it interesting from what looks like Tenkara fishing at Rhayader -with top hats thrown in - through to the Dows in the tadal sections. Also relates when seeveral Wye bridge were spent away by an onslaught of thawing ice due to the great flood of 1795 -(must have had global warming then too) plus a picture of the Wye at Builth Wells which must be as low as its ever been - cue global warming again. See some pics below -sorry you have to crane your neck though. Oh and Hay used to have a proper railway station as did the valley from there through to Builth.
