River levels pretty stable at the moment after yesterdays heavy showers and still coloured.

Latest.  River continues to drop and clear slowly and Flying C oficionados could be in business tomorrow on the upper river but Friday could be quite reasonable

Snaelda salmon flies have caught a couple of fish on the Wye already this season plus its variant the Franc n Snaelda.
Nothing special, easy to tie and as usual now with more variations and additions than you could imagine.
However the basic pattern as below - with conehead also now in fashion .
However like all other salmon flies it can't work if you don't show it to a taking fish and therin often lies the problem.

In the meantime saw this thought for the day and  thought I would share it with you;,

"The Budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed, lest Rome will become bankrupt. People must again learn to work instead of living on public assistance." - Cicero , 55 BC

So, evidently we've learned bu**er all over the past 2,069 years.
