Report of a 5lb gilse from Backney on a mepps for Kieth Maddox.
I see WUF studiously ignore the 4lb fin clipped grilse reported by the Fishery Owner at Bigswier.?
It seems many anglers when asked are still not bothering to check to see if the fish they have caught has been fin clipped or not. Please try and do so as its important information re SNR fish.

MISSING BOAT.

PLEASE LOOK OUT FOR A SMALL FISHING BOAT WHICH HAS BEEN CUT LOSE FROM ITS MOORING ON THE MAESLLWCH BEAT PROBABLY BY CANOEISTS.
It' an old boat with Maesllwch Fishery written across its stern. If you find it please contact me.
Just another incident in the quite disgraceful goings on on the Glasbury to Hay section on  a daily basis which has made this section of river now virtually unfishable during the day and often into the evenings with illegal launches from Glasbury and the Hollybush Inn.  I make no apologies for mentioning it again.  To what purpose and to what effect was the Splash funding obtained by WUF put to and why do they continue to encourage canoeing on this section of river with no right of navigation.    One day someone will answer this question but there again why would they want to stop them. Well it keeps them off their fishing at least doesn't it.

Good start to the day.  A fish of 18lbs from Bigswier to Ed Brown.  Photo below.
