For instance why compare this years spring catch with one at the turn of the century when the river had been almost netted to extinction.  No mention of the huge spring  catches in the mid nineteenth century with a thousand fish before the end of March.  Mention a decade of improvement work -isn't it almost two decades, and no mention of the cost either. Didn't these facts also apply to last years debacle too.  Its a classic example of how to chose a few selective facts to give an impression that does not truly reflect the overall Wye situation.   Ah well it was ever thus.!!
