See below the latest from WUF.  No mention of any spawning activity and not much else either.
Congratulations to John Lawson however it would be nice one of these days to see the actual report he has produced on the Wye for WUF.   Its deemed a success although its not had chance to prove itself yet but like most things from WUF, thats how it works.

We did this, its a success, but NO you can't see the report or the figures or at least just those bits we allow you to see. Its a total disgrace..
As for a CHRISTMAS GIFT VOUCHER,  if you were a salmon fisherman and received one on Christmas morning -would you be delighted?

Wye & Usk Foundation News Update

Sunday 30th November 2014

The last day of November proved to be one of the sunniest of the whole month and rivers have dropped back and are flowing clear for once. Temperatures remain unseasonably high - a welcome respite from weeks of rain.
The annual get together of all the rivers trusts took place in Kings Lynn last week, hosted by the Norfolk RT. These meetings are an opportunity to exchange experiences and hear of developments in river management. The highlight for us was that John Lawson, who masterminded the Wye and Usk abstraction plan received no less than two awards, having also been nominated by "Action for the River Kennet" where his experience and skill has lead to significant changes there.
On Wednesday, there was piece on BBC news highlighting the problems of run off from fields. It can be viewed here. Agricultural diffuse pollution is rapidly rising upwards in respect of importance It is damaging our rivers and making compliance with the Water Framework Directive very difficult. Most of our time is now spent dealing with these issues.
The milder weather referred to earlier has given Grayling fishers a bit of an extended season especially those out fly fishing. I saw several nice fish landed on the upper Wye earlier today to nymphs well down in the water column. The coming week should be good, but don't start too early if there is a frost.
For those of you like me in complete denial about the inevitable festivities, but nonetheless feel the need to find gifts for fishers, we have the answer with the WUF gift Fishing Vouchers. Please ask Allyson at the office.
