See below from WUF.  As ever nothing specific. What does 'plenty' of redds mean 2 -4 10 ????

I presume they didn't see any on the USK

Wye & Usk Foundation News Update

25th November 2014

Ross-on-Wye artist and fisherman, Humphrey Stanley, has painted this detailed study of six brown trout backed by a map of the Wye & Usk. It depicts the wide variety of markings found within the catchments.
If you are interested in purchasing a limited edition print of this painting please visit his website and click on 'Prints for Sale'. The artist is kindly donating £10 from the purchase of each print to Wye & Usk Foundation river restoration projects.
Our annual river walk took place last Sunday: the weather was kind, in fact it was a beautiful day and two coaches visited the Usk and Wye. Spawning fish were seen in Elan and plenty of redds found in Sgithwen and Garth Dulas - about the only places clear enough to see anything. If only today's frost had happened a day or so earlier!
The persistent rainfall of the last few weeks looks set to give way to some drier weather (don't let us down Met Office, please!) which means that grayling anglers should be able to find some better conditions again. The levels will probably remain too high for fly fishing on the Lugg and Arrow system for a while yet (generally the Byton gauge needs to be below 1 foot 6 inches) but the upper Wye, Irfon and Ithon should be fishable now or very soon. If it's cold, Wye piking might even start but this would be at the expense of barbel fishing which generally ends following a cold snap. As ever, for details on what's being caught where, please look at the Anglers' Feedback and Reports section of our website.
We are compiling details of season rod availability for next year and the information will be available on our website soon.
All the best from WUF.
