Nothing to report on the salmon front again though I came close last night.  Fishing a fast run yesterday evening  for barbel and chub with zero activity just on dusk I was rolling two small 8mm halibut pellets through the swim when  I eventually made contact.  Fish felt heavy and slow moving and was expecting a big chub. Fish suddenly went berserk, jumped almost onto the far bank gravel and snapped me off before the fixed spool clutch could give line..  It was clearly a salmon around the 8;/9lb mark.    You never know do you but that's fishing I suppose and part of why we do it..

Perhaps I should have recorded it -wouldn't be the first time a long range release went into the books!!!
