LATEST -Headline.
Wye catch more than doubles overnight.!!!!
News of a few fish from Bigswier so far this month.
11lbs to Rebbeca Annan her first fish.
6lbs to Brian James.
9lbs to a Mr M Cotton also his first salmon.
6lb and 4lbs to L Reynold.
a 28" fish for Steve Boswell last Saturday from Lyn Em, Lower Glanwye.
Nothing caught yesterday -just the odd fish seen but Bigsweir still seems likely to be the one place
where a fish might come from at the moment as suggested yesterday..
Wasn't aware until today that Caradoc, owned by Wye Salmon Fishery Owners Chairman (Absent temporarily)now boast what must be the most expensive river coarse fishing in the country £35/45 per day the same coast as the salmon fishing. Is someone joking and why are people prepared to pay such a crazy price.
Wonder how much it is one the opposite bank?.
Seems some from WUF are up fishing the Tyne this week. Wonder how they square their opposition to the Wye SNR project on dubious genetic fears whilst happy to fish for the Tyne 'mongrels' with mixed ancestors from up to 8 other rivers. Expect they feel the fish are all 'wild' now though!!! Couldn't make it up really could you.
