Rain in the headwaters yesterdays has initiated a welcome rise in river levels of around a foot at Erwood and obviously elsewhere to a lesser degree.   This should help matters considerably though much too little to provoke salmon movement from the lower river.    Temperatures remain reasonable but a mainly dry outlook a long way ahead seems to be the forecast.
