Like many other members of RWGA and WSA my thoughts today are with the wife, family, relatives and close friends of Gerry Lewis who is being laid to rest this afternoon at Hereford Crematorium. Flowers have been sent on behalf of the two organisations.
Gerry was a long time, well known Hereford angler and despite his age still did work on the river from time to time, notably at the Carrots and Caradoc fisheries. I got to know him in the old Gillies Association where he was a stalwart supporter though I never knew him or fished with him before that.
He will be sadly missed by all his friends.
Under normal circumstances I would have course attended his funeral but due to the present circumstances and age I feel I should not do so which saddens me greatly Hope his family and friends will understand and accept my apologies.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Taslk of the river seem irrelevant somehow but its still carrying too much water and still raining in Wales.
