Well the rain has arrived.  Only question is how much and for how long.

WUF event;

The event will be at Pembridge Village Hall, Pembridge, Hereford HR6 9EB on Wednesday 19th February 7.00 – 9.00 pm.
In light of the recent planning embargo in north Herefordshire, we are holding a meeting to hear about the drivers behind the restrictions and the type of interventions that are required to reduce phosphate levels in our watercourses. There will be speakers from Natural EnglandHerefordshire Council and the Wye & Usk Foundation.
The meeting aims to provide an update on what is being done by key sectors, including:
Sewage works: Dwr Cymru are planning significant investment in Herefordshire to reduce the level of phosphate contributed by householders on mains sewage systems.
Agriculture: Many farmers are already taking steps to reduce phosphate losses from their farms. We will hear what a group of local farmers are doing to improve the quality of water and wildlife on their farms
Business: Several local businesses are looking to identify ways to reduce phosphate contribution of future developments, including supporting the building of integrated wetland systems to create headroom for planned housing development.
Householders: There are things individuals can do to reduce their phosphate footprint in the catchment too!
If you would like to understand the implications of phosphate in water and the further environment please come along. Everyone is welcome although we ask you book your place by contacting either Mike Williams or Lucinda Lewis
