Moderate spate on the upperbeats which is only now filtering down to the lower river.  Move a few fish around I susupect but more rains seems forecast for most days .

There was a recent fish caught, accidentally as it turns out by Geoff Handley at Bigswier.  With many having given up on the salmon he went out with his trout rod and a small grilse took his trout fly and was duly landed.  Who was the most surprised I wonder.
Grilse have been scarce as usual and form a tiny part of the Wye's total catch.
