Only one fish reported so far from yesterday which seems rather strange though perhaps more aretill to come in.

14lbs fish for Tim Hughes from  the Rectory's Rock Pool.

Lovely evening so decided to go salmon fishing for the second time this year.  Waited till no danger (in theory) of any canoe traffic.  However it was not to be as all the salmon pools and lies were occupied on the far bank by barbel anglers all sat with rods pointing skywards with lines way across the river with complete inactivity.
What the hell has this river come to.!!  Worse still no one seems to care.  Follow the money!!!

Latest
Clifford(yesterday) 19lb fish for Ricky Reno -spinning.  He may have had another from Garnoss today I understand.
Lower Glanwye 8 and 10lbs on fly to Matt Cooper.
Glanwye. 12lbs to Stephen Morley on fly.

Just seen a rather bizarre programme on Countryfile regarding the 'control' of Signal crayfish.
The answer could be they say eels. Apparently they eat signal crayfish - well small ones anyway.  Would have to be some eel to eat a large adult Crayfish.   Perhaps they know that perch , chub, pike trout and barbel eat them too together with Otters and the adult crayfish themselves who prey heavily on their young.   Shan't be waiting with bated breath to see just what the Phd student doing the study comes up with at the end of it all   They stocked 109 eels apparently, no idea what size but electric fishing on the day they filmed they couldn't find any.  Wonder if they are still there????
