Lack of fish is still the main worry at the moment.

There was a fish from Glanwye yesterday  18/20lbs on a Dee Monkey to James Manning plus a report of a fish perhaps from the Nyth earlier in the month but unconfirmed.
Sadly that was it despite really good river condition in many areas.

LATEST,

Ingeston: 18lbs with long tailed lice for Saul Roberts and 15lbs For Brian Owen also sea liced

Couple of Interesting programmes on BBC today.  Protection for Scottish beavers.  Damage they caused was very evident and although there was concern for farmers crops there was no mention of how fish might be affected.   Claimed to be good for the environment.  I fail to see how>  We don't need them here that's for sure.

Also an item on closed containment land based salmon farming in Denmark   resolved the environment problems and the sea lice problem too.   More expensive fish of course which is why it's not popular in Scotland and elsewhere perhaps .  Remember many years ago Tony Chattaway -he of the early stillwater  Packington fishery- was pushing the idea and hoped to open up such a scheme.
never happened - profit talks.

Fish from Lyn Em-Lower Glanwye yesterday

Report of a pollution incident in Loggin Brook near Hay on Wye which was turned white by some substance that smelled of paint or cellulose.   EA attended and took samples apparently.

Asbestos sheets also seen in river further down at Bridge Sollars though perhaps unlikey to cause the same threat to fish as they might to humans.  Even in this day and age the river is still used as a rubbish tip by some.
