Report of an 8lb fish from, well Wyesham, to Gordon Richards on fly.

That makes three fish for the Easter weekend.  Apart from years when there has been a wash off that must surely be the worst Easter weekend ever.   Just what going to happen for the rest of the season I dread to think.  We shall have to wait and see.

Interestingly I met old Tom who owns the Painscastle fishery, site of the WUF hatchery debacle.
When first used it was known to be home to American signal Crayfish as was the stream, the Bach Howey, that feeds it and as a result caused problem with the ensuing fry and parr that were produced.
Seems that the crayfish problem has been virtually solved as very few, just large adults, are still present in his ponds.  Why?.  Well he stocked with |Perch apparently who have virtually eaten the lot

With all this sun no sign of any algae yet is there?.  Some on the Hampshire Avon of all places it seems   Sign of the times.

14lb fish from Backney yesterday apparently   Spinning. Anon.
None reported so far today.
