River dropped quite quickly on the upper beats but still high and dirty.  More rain forecast over the weekend apparently so who knows.
Fish from upper Bigswier yesterday as river was rising, a bright fish of around 15lbs to Nathan Jubb.

See below.  Having attended every one apart from one, enough is enough.

Upcoming Events

Friday 21st September, 2018

With what seems like a sudden onset of autumn comes preparation for three events in WUF's calendar that we'd like to tell you about.
The first of these is our Annual Meeting, this year being held at 6.30pm at the Three Counties Hotel in Hereford on Friday 26th October. Through presentations from Foundation staff and external speakers, this is the chance to find out what has been happening in the world of fisheries and land management and what the Foundation has been doing for the past 12 months.
The evening also provides you with an opportunity to ask questions about the rivers and the Foundation's activities. There is a free buffet and the hotel's bar will be open (not free sorry!).
This is a free event and anyone is welcome to come along. Places are limited, however, so all we ask is that if you want to attend please book a place via our website or call us on 01874 711 714 to let us know.
On Sunday 25th of November we will be holding the 2018 Nick Brabner Autumn River Walk.
This year we are planning to base the walk around the Usk. However, the event is always a little unpredictable - rarely do we know exactly what we will find or where until a few days before! If the weather has been wet in the preceding days, there will be a chance to witness the spectacular sight of salmon and trout leaping at falls. If the rivers are low and clear, we might be watching fish spawn. What is certain is the river walk is a few hours in wonderful countryside at a spectacular time of year and with a good lunch thrown in!
To cover the coach and lunch expenses, the river walk costs £25.00 for adults and £19.50 for under 14s. The easiest way to book a place is via our website (where you can also find more details) or you can call us on 01874 711 714.
Finally, we will be running our third fundraising auction from 19th November to 9th December. We are currently collecting lots very generously donated by WUF supporters, details of which will be made available in October.
Previous years' lots have included salmon fishing
WUF's 2018 Annual Meeting is on Friday 26th October. Come along, meet staff members and find out what we've been doing.
The Autumn River Walk is on Sunday 25th November.
Our fundraising auction will start on Monday 19th November - get ready to bid!
in Scotland, exclusive shooting days, Victoria sponge cakes and fine wines. If you have something we can auction then please get in touch on 01874 711 714 or by email. We will consider just about anything!
Thank you for your support.
All the best from WUF.
