A few residents still stirring following the taste of tghat extra water and lower temperatures.
Two from Wyesham 10 and 8lbs to Huw Evans and Joe Cobley.
Rectory.  8lbs to Sion Edwards.
Gromain   7lbs to George Ottewell.

Apart from the disgraceful spillage of untreated sewage at Hay this week another incident last week at Hereford - see below  The cavalier attitude of the Water Company's reply just about says it all.  A shrug of the shoulders and if we are overloaded with sewage we are legally entitled to let it go into the river so that's what we do.  Probably happens all the time but with wet weather the river is usually higher and it goes unnoticed.  So much for improved water quality/

Actually in Hay today talking to some anti Brexiters.  An old lady told me that the EU had been good as salmon are coming back to the Wye and rivers are cleaner.    You can perhaps imagine my reply.
She had heard good things about WUF she said.  So when I asked her what she would think of an organisation with half a million pound wage bill, 22 years in spending 14/15million pounds and still ended up with less than they started with she said that would be appalling.  Well she was right and is now not so misinformed.

This too from WUF website re pollution.  Perhaps it's about time we saw some action on peventing pollution entering our rivers.   More concerned about a cow pat in the river than untreated human waste!!

Preventing Pollution

Some organisations take valuable retrospective action against polluters (statutory authority prosecutions and civil action by Fish Legal, for example). The Foundation’s work, however, is geared more to prevent pollution entering the rivers in the first instance.
