Could be a big day for possible salmon catches especially on the upper and middle river with
possibilities on the lower river although still on the high side.

Could be a case of 'spot the water' between canoes in the more heavily used areas with the river a playground for every man and his dog.  Big festival on in Hereford.

Re NRW Proposed Byelaws;

FOR ANSWER BY
THE CABINET SECRETARY FOR
ENERGY PLANNING AND RURAL AFFAIRS

ON 02 MAY 2018

Janet Finch-Saunders (Aberconwy):  Will the Cabinet Secretary make a statement on the reasons for the postponement of proposed salmon byelaws until 2019, and advise as to whether she intends to re-consult on this matter? WAQ76426
Lesley Griffiths: Natural Resources Wales (NRW) took a decision to postpone the implementation of any potential new measures on catch controls for salmon and sea trout on Welsh rivers, until after the 2018 seasons. This was done to avoid confusion for anglers, in the current season, which has already started.

The NRW consultation has generated a significant number of responses. My officials are currently considering these and other associated responses.   I will then consider the range of issues identified in detail before making a determination.

It would not be appropriate for me to comment on the need for further consultation at this stage.
