Dry spell looks likely to continue throughout next week so not much chance of a change in conditions.  Lower beats still have plenty of water enabling fish to enter the river if they are there to do so.  Its looking increasingly likely at the moment that they are not there in any numbers.  Needless to say upper beats may be at a standstill till the next spate.

Lot of disappointed anglers following last year Trout and Salmon editors article  hyping up the Wye I reckon.  Still always nice to get a proper perspective from just one visit to the river -there are quite a few of those about these days.

LATEST>  Stan Turner had his second fish of the season from Aramstone.  A 10 pounder on a black f/c

Saw this (below) on the Salmon fishing forum;  Doesn't know he has been born really does he.
One the other hand on what other major salmon fishing river would angler/owners put up with the Wye canoe problem, increasing year on year..

 Is it just me ?

Last week I had a hovercraft while fishing on the Tweed. This week on the North Tyne I had two canoes !

To be fair to them they stayed well away from the channel that I was fishing
