Despite beatifuol weather and river conditions for much of the Wye things still remain very subdud. Should we be starting to get a little worried -well I think we should, especially on the upper river which has seen little action despite everything being in it's favour.

Some spectacular hatches of Grannom yesterday afternoon on the Wye around Hay. Veritable blizzards of fly yet saw not a single trout rise.  Having said that they must have gorged themselves on the nymphs which judging by number must literally have paved the riverbed.  A few big Stoneflies around too but of fish, salmon or trout, not a fin stirred, nor anywhere else it seems from the lack of reports so far.

A friend fishing the river yesterday afternoon when the Grannom were really prolific.  You just may be able to make them out
