JUST BEEN SENT THIS PICTURE OF A 49LB WYE SALMON WHICH WAS RECENTLY PRINTED IN THE MONMOUTH BEACON.

How did he manage it.   No Maxima, no fibreglass or carbon fibre, No Skagit, no Scandi,, not even a Spey Line. Probably though  just a plain old wooden Devon minnow..  Mind you Partridge did make decent hooks in those days when Redditch was the centre of the tackle making industry.

There was a meeting at Hereford on Monday with representation by the Angling Trust regarding the need to gain evidence to support the rivers licence to shoot avian predators.  Anglers are to be asked to provide photograph of birds seen,  any chicks and any evidence of damage to any fish in an attempt to gain evidence for further increase in numbers shot.
there may well be a river wide survey in the future.  Chris james hereford Chairman will collate results.  More later.

We heard much about the middle and lower river but the representative from the upper river, SMS basically refused to discuss the situation there regarding numbers which can be shot and whether or not the quota was being met.  No idea why other than he doesn't answer questions from mere mortals.  Difficult though I agree when you have a Messiah complex!!!!

Was further reminded of this condition today hearing Tony Blair trying to bring down Brexit.
