Conditions remain much as yesterday. River stable with just a tinge of colour on the upper beats, more coloured but clearing slightly below the Lugg. Still no fish from the upper beats and quite frankly many now go not expecting to catch anything - and they don't. They don't even see anything.
I see the holiday feedback on WUFs site, always good for a smile or two., is all from trout anglers or is it that all the salmon anglers don;'t bother to submit a nil return. I thought it was a requirement.
They still refuse to rectify the mistake they made by declaring the Wye was still not judged to be at risk and probably remain so until 2018. Much has been made of this on the internet but the motto 'never admit to a mistake' remains their mantra.
Lets hope for better things today. It's now not too cold, not too high and not too bright and a little colour never used to be a problem for the spinners anyway. Same dearth of fish on the Usk too it seems and a lot of head scratching is going on at the moment.
Nothing reported today as yet apart from a fish of 11lbs off Wyebank yesterday evening by John Taylor on fly!.
